Meet The Team

Dr. Katie Johnson, D.C. (on the right)

She grew up in Alma, Nebraska where she was active in academics, athletics, and community events. She went on to compete in track and field and softball at Hastings College and graduated in May of 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.

Following graduation from Hastings College, Katie attended Cleveland University in Overland Park, Kansas to further her education and pursue a doctorate in chiropractic. Dr. Katie has a passion for helping people of all backgrounds improve their health and get back to doing the things they love to do.

In her free time, Dr. Katie enjoys going on adventures with Dr. Avery and their dog Gentry, trying new foods, and cheering on the Huskers - Go Big Red!

Dr. Avery Umphreys, D.C. (on the left)

He was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and graduated from Treynor High School, which is a small town about 10 miles east of Council Bluffs. From there, he went to Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology. Upon graduation, he decided to attend chiropractic school in Overland Park, KS at Cleveland University-Kansas City.

While enrolled at CU-KC, Avery was active in many clubs on campus which helped him learn and establish his clinical skills. On top of clubs, he took over 500 hours of continuing education including Acupuncture, Dry Needling, Functional Range Systems, SFMA, DNS, MDT, MPI, and many more. Throughout these courses, he has developed a passion for helping people live their best lives while providing them with the tools necessary to help get them there. He believes that movement is medicine because the human body was made to be active and move! Whether you want to play with your grandkids, play slow-pitch softball, or go hiking in the mountains - Avery wants to help you be able to continue to do what you love with no restrictions.

In his free time, Avery enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, Katie, and their dog, Gentry. He also enjoys playing disc golf, hunting, and fishing!
